For the brake pad replacement of a motorcycle, the replacement cycle needs to be determined according to the type of brake pad. If the drum brake is used, it generally needs to be replaced once at about 10,000 to 15,000 kilometers; If the disc brake is used, it can generally be replaced after driving 6,000 kilometers. In addition, for the rear drum brake pads, generally need to be replaced in about 30,000 kilometers. In the process of driving, the brake shoe needs to be checked every 5,000 kilometers to ensure that its wear state, whether the degree of wear on both sides is consistent and whether the return is free. If an anomaly is found, it must be handled immediately.
How to determine whether the brake disc needs to be replaced? First of all, you can judge by observing the thickness of the brake pads. The thickness of the new brake pads is generally about 1.5 cm, and the thickness of the brake pads will gradually become thinner with the friction during use. When the naked eye observes that the thickness of the brake pad is only about one-third of the original thickness (about 0.5 cm), the owner should increase the frequency of self-inspection and be ready to replace it at any time. Secondly, if the brake is accompanied by a slight sound, it proves that the brake pads have exceeded the limit and need to be replaced immediately. If the situation is serious, the brake disc is often damaged, and the brake disc needs to be replaced.
